Meeting VenueThe conference will be held at the The Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation / Cloyd Heck Marvin Center, located at 800 21st St NW, Washington, DC 20052. Getting to the Conference CenterBelow you will find directions for getting to the conference center from the three area airports. From DCA, Ronald Reagan National Airport: This is the nearest airport to the conference venue and is also the most accessible. The airport is located on the blue and yellow Metro rail stop.
From IAD, Washington Dulles International Airport: Take the Washington Flyer Bus to West Falls Church metro station. Take the Orange Line for 7 stops to Foggy Bottom / GWU. From BWI, Baltimore Washington International Airport: You can reach the conference venue by either taking a bus or a commuter train.
Getting Around Washington, D.C.The best way to get around D.C. is by using the Metro, D.C.'s subway system. The conference is located near the Foggy Bottom / GWU station on the blue and orange line. You will find more information about the system on the Metro website, including a trip planner and a system map. The cost for each trip is based on the distance traveled and also on the time of the day, with the rate being higher during the morning and afternoon "rush". You pay for the trip with either a paper ticket or a plastic SmartTrip card. The paper ticket is fed into a reader and must be retrieved before the entry gate opens. Make sure to keep the ticket since you will need it to exit the system. The plastic card is used by touching it to a sensor on the gate. Additional money can be deposited onto the ticket or the card at the farecard stations. Metro is transitioning away from the paper tickets and has recently instituted a $1.00 surcharge on trips paid for by a paper ticket. Hence, it is recommended that you purchase the SmartTrip card if you plan to use the Metro. These cards cost $5.00 and can be purchased in most grocery and drug stores, and also at many Metro stations. Once you arrive at Foggy Bottom, the university will be located in front of you. Please refer to the map below for walking directions to the Conference center. |
